September 20, 200817 yr Chap-Stick So, PB, do you know what the Tehachapi Loop is? Any train aficionado would dig it. My response to thread: sealed
September 20, 200817 yr Bob, I am no train freak, but I was in the Cub Scouts for 15 minutes. The Tehachapi Loop is some sort of Native American knot, no doubt. Prolly comes with its own Merit Badge due to Degree of Difficulty. My response to thread: cooties Edited September 20, 200817 yr by ocnblu

No, actually, it's a big "circle" created by the railroad tracks east of Bakersfield CA and west of the Mojave Desert CA that enables the train to gain (or lose) altitude. In so doing, the first car of the train is either above, on a trestle, (or below in a tunnel) the last car. There is a vista point on the hill above that allows you to look at the whole thing from up high. It's a big "wow." My response to thread: scooter Edited September 21, 200817 yr by trinacriabob
