    Which is wrong it should be Danke schön—thanks beautifully—schein means "light" (think shine). German schöne (beautiful), is equivalent to English sheen. The words are closely related to schein/shine, the sense being of "radiant" beauty. The "radiant", "bright" and "shining" senses now dominate in English, as the connection with shine is more apparent, leading to the more common noun.
