May 16, 200619 yr Bean Counters ------------ Milk (Pantho...how do hell do you get calcium from rattlesnake?) I remember reading as a kid that the Pit Viper snake family, of which Rattlesnakes are a part of, use massive doses of Calcium among other things in their venom, to stop the beating of the victim's heart. This only applies to Pit Vipers such as Rattlers, Black Moccasins, Cottonmouths etc. Small fanged, fixed teeth snakes like Cobras, Coral Snakes, Sea Snakes, Mambas etc. use neurotoxin to kill. Sometimes when I hear Rattlesnake I think of this stupid factoid. Edited May 16, 200619 yr by Sixty8panther
May 16, 200619 yr accountants (incidentally, with most rattlesnake bites, if you get to the doctor real quick, they can help you -- with one species, the Mojave (mow-haw-vee), their venom is far more lethal, I've been told)
