I noticed this recently. When I operate the power door lock switch, all the lights (dome, reading, dashboard) will all of a sudden dim a little for a second. Interesting is that it doesn't do it when cranking the engine, whereas my Cavalier does, as with many other cars.

Is this normal or an electrical problem? I didn't seem to notice this on my Cavalier when operating its power locks.

normaly aux. features are on the same curcuit but the starter has its own since it requires more amps than a power door lock.

My Caprice lights only dim when I start it since its the only curcuit since i have no aux. features manual everything. The silverado doesnt dim while starting but if you hold the window switch up the lights dim.

Dont worry about it though. besides are you even in the car when you start it?

since I know you would most likely use the remote start.

Actually it doesn't do it when I start the car. It's when I operate the power locks. Not sure for the window though, will try it out tomorrow.

My Impala does the same thing, normal deal, no biggie. I've had my charging system checked and backprobed the wiring harness on my Impala to the best of my ability and there's no problems, so I consider it normal, its not noticeable unless you're looking for something odd.

Yeah don't worry about it thats normal if it really bothered you that much you could probably fix it because when I put in a big amp in a car when bass hits the headlights and interior lights will dim but thats why you put in a Capacitor at least audio wise but I would imagine if you added a small capacitor to the door lock switch that would fix your problem but its too complicated and definantly overkill.
