That's an early one, too, with the sharper ground effects. Love the giant antlers, as well.

I love the sharper ground effect myself...there is an Early Z28 sitting in a tow yard that I pass every day on the way to work. It is an Ohio Rust bucket on its way to the crusher...but still I would love to save that car...the third gen cars to me are just so cool...

True...and for their day...they weren't bad.

Ideal car would be a third gen with the ls series drive train...now that...would be sweet!

There are quite a few LSx third gens out there (kits are available).

There's a lot of 3rd gen. Camaros out there with exotic motor swaps.

Here in Mass there's some guy about my age who has a mid-1980s black coupe with a insane twin turbo setup on an LT1. He's an urban legend of sorts, the car is amazing.

Back in the late 1990s I bought a DuPont Registry that had an ad for a wildly re-worked Camaro... IIRC it was a 1990 m.y. the claim was that it was some insane SBC with forced induction churning out a 1000 HP & capable of 240 mph.

Believe me, I have thought LONG and HARD about doing this...

But really...if I was going to go third gen...I think I'd like to find a genuine 1LE car...

After owning a number of Camaros when I was a bit younger. I can say that I never did like anything about that body style.

My cousin Greg had a black standard style early camaro like that...VERY oisitive me mories of that car...one of my friends in college had a white one...very positive memories of that car as well.

Any way one of those Disney movies could actually be true and we could have the evil witch of Tokyo melt while every Corolla turns into a second or third gen Camaro?

I liked both, but definitely preferred the R/S split bumper style w/ the offset plate (I have a thing for offset plates), huge grille, and round turn signals.

I esp. liked the look of the Baldwin-Motion Camaro w/ the L88 hood and side pipes..totally badass..though the Z-28 was an impressive looking car as well.

(this is the car AMT patterned their 1/25th scale kit off of)

Baldwin Motion = good stuff!

That car is flat out beautiful.

Back in about '78 or '79 there was a similar Camaro with the L-88 hood in rough shape hanging around a tiny local lot at a cheap price. I've always wondered if it was a real Motion car or not.
