Spy Shots: Wide-body Cadillac CTS-V for 2007

Featured Replies

Next gen CTS will be wider than the current model, so a NS or UV8 can fit.

Northstars or uv8's sound great but what about the alms program? Caddys clean up in that series against audi and the others. They have a great program based off the ls7. Would they use the uv8 or drop out? I really enjoy seeing a caddy run down vipers

I can not belive that the number of CTS-V's sold is that great, I would suspect that it would be less than 5 a day.

I haven't seen any official V sales numbers, but there were some posts on cadillacforums.com claiming - 2,401 in 2004 and 4,194 in 2005. That's about 6.5 and 11.5 per calendar day or about 9.2 and 16.1 per work day, ignoring holidays and vacation/sick days.

Are you kids forgetting about the rumored LS9 that you yourselves uncovered with the CAD request form last month??? That DOHC motor would bump the output into the 500 hp range easily - plus it would breathe...that would compete with an M5/M3/M6 output and gives us something to drool over.

also - let us not forget that the latest offerings to the V-series cars have been supercharged...so the Blue Devil motor MAY be what is in there - to keep in line with the blower motors of the STS-V and XLR-V

The LS7 revs to a redline of like 7500 RPMS. Better than MANY DOHC V8s. it is lighter and easier to package. Also a DOHC engine sharing a block with the LSx V8 would be as big as a big block, see ZR1's LT5 for comparison.

LS9 won't be OHC.

maybe its not a caddy at all?

whats a concept shown recently with an 8 inch wider overall track and a 1.5 inch difference in wheelbase, something that those fenderflares could be hiding pretty well?

give ya a hint: Its not the Enclave...

just a thought

Yeah your not the only one thinking that. But more than likely that is being done in Aus, not the ring. Unless the timeframe is MUCH sooner than anyone has previously mentioned.

My guess is still Sigma II CTS.

To add to the "which engine goes in the CTS-V" speculation:

Remember why they used the LSx in the first place. The engine bay in the CTS isn't wide enough for a Northstar. Those fender flares = something much wider underneath. :scratchchin:

Those pics weren't taken at the Nurburgring. They were shot in Michigan.

Is it the Mini-ring at Milford?

i think the cts needs its redo in 08
