August 31, 200520 yr The 2005 Airstream Skydeck. Isn't it good to be alive and live in a country where you can buy this?....I want one. Where's the beer?
August 31, 200520 yr No. No its not. Especially when the vehicle RV drivers upgraded from is a Mercury Grand Marquis PGA Tour Congressional Town Sedan Edition DeLuxe.
August 31, 200520 yr Anytime an RV costs enough to buy my house and the two surrounding houses, it just aint right.
August 31, 200520 yr yea, I've seen the skydeck before...it's alright...nothing too glamorous...our friends have thise huge 40+ foot RV...the thing is insane, has lots of gadgets and stuff built into it....very cool RV...very big though...and to think he tows a boat with it and sometimes a boat and a car !
August 31, 200520 yr Still pretty sure I'd rather save my $250k+, get an MB wagon, use it to travel in and stay in some nice hotels.
August 31, 200520 yr I love camping and RVs... but those huge motor homes are rediculous. That's not camping. Ugh. :puke:
August 31, 200520 yr Yeah, but can you even say "pitch a tent" without giggling? I cant, and thats why I dont go camping.
August 31, 200520 yr Ok, I had to put my two cents into this one. A couple of guys have one of those huge bus-like RVs on a permanent site at the gay campground I go to. It's awesome, and they have their site all landscaped, it's really cool. I plan on pitching my tent there this weekend (hehe), the weather is supposed to be spectacular! It's a very friendly place. It's mostly guys, but girls go there too. And it's "clothing optional", so if you feel like it, you can pack light. I love tent camping.
August 31, 200520 yr Author Here's my big Airstream Skydeck and there's Blu, his tent and his bear. That's my dog Toto.
August 31, 200520 yr I love RVs. Someday when I retire I want a medium sized one and a trailer for my '69 Camaro. Go around the country to the 49 states and then take a ferry to Hawaii. :P Fly: yes a lot of elderly drive motorhomes but they all drive as well or better than the typical soccer mom, teenager or yuppie in an SUV.

[post="7163"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post] No, they don't. That's a fact. The majority of them don't grasp concepts such as turning radius, using the right-hand lane, and common courtesy like parking at the far-end of the lot at a shopping center rather than right up close, taking up six to ten spaces. They also get really mad when you pass them ona two-lane road even if they're going 10 under the limit and love to make U-turns on busy six-lane boulevards with no regard for other people. I speak from pure experience when I say that. What scares me the most is the fact that the vehicle they're driving is many times larger and heavier than a regular car which many of them still can't drive. Heck, this year two have already made the news in this area for backing into gas pumps. Sorry, but I'll always see these things as wastes of space, wastes of time, and wastes of money.
September 1, 200520 yr Most motorists lack common sense. I watch small cars like hyundais & nissans swing to the right every day in order to make a sharp left turn like they're in a school bus or a tractor-trailer. No one uses a turn signal anymore- instead of i-drive why can't bmw & mercedes work on a fail-safe signalling system? I haven't had the same motor home experiences you have, FB, but regular motorists aren't anything to write home about either...

[post="7649"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post] Not exactly fail-safe, but the turn signals on new BMW's are of "trigger" design, and through iDrive, you can set how many blinks you want per lane change, so they don't stay on forever if the driver is too busy Bluetoothing.
