Aura suspension questions

Featured Replies

My question is this how will the Aura suspension be a different setup than G6 GTP I have read where the Saturn have been talking to Opel closely on this one.

This car rightly has garnerd alot of interest especially with the interior and stately but sporty exterior.

Where I question though is what differnces there will be in the suspension tweaking that will take place.

Probably Struts/Multilink like the other Epsilons, and as far as tuning?

Suspension settings are usually softer in American-branded cars compared to the Europeans. I would certainly hope that the tuning would be similar to the Opel Vectra's. This would technically result in tight body control and firm ride (hopefully it isn't harsh). And if CDC (Continuous Damping Control) is on the "new" Vectra, then would be most excellent for the Aura.

The Aura might have more sophisticated body control than the G6 GTP with the possibility of a better ride to boot. German automobiles (Opel "technically" is just this) are renowned for the ride/handling trade aren't they?

I don't have any hard-line facts here, but this is my optimistic and hopeful opinion about how the Aura shall behave on the road.

There is an article on Autoweek qouting Bob Lutz where the Malibu and G6 were dumbed down from the Opel's, he went on to say that would not be happening anymore and would be watching like a hawk to see that it would not.

Now whereas Saturn;s are tied to Opel's directly now that bodes well for them.

The only Auro I am looking at is the 3.6 6speed automatic also will be looking the new Altima as well ready to pulll the trigger on a new car.

Precisely. I'm also very, very interested in the 3.6 with 6sp auto. I can't wait to see what one will be priced loaded (leather, roof, 6-disc changer,etc.)... the only thing I'm really not interested is a Navi.
