July 15, 201015 yr Allow me to introduce my daughter, Sierra Skye!! Born Wednesday, July 14th at 10:56 PM. Weight: 6 pounds, 13 ounces; Length: 20 inches. Mom and baby are both doing well at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (Hamilton Township, Mercer County). Both big brothers, Justin (4) and Anthony (16), are very happy to have a sister. As for the name, it should be no mystery where "Sierra" comes from (still to this day I'm surprised the wife went along with this choice!), and the wife always liked Sky(e) (yes, from the roadster!) as a middle name. My last name begins with a "R", so that makes Sierra's initials SSR too!! Edited July 15, 201015 yr by GMTruckGuy74
July 15, 201015 yr Congrats! My brother and sister in law just popped out their 3rd a few weeks ago. You have some sleepless nights ahead of you but its more then worth it.
July 16, 201015 yr Congrats to you and your family! That was interesting the whole name. I am quite sure you are a proud papa.
July 20, 201015 yr Author Thanks everyone!! While the wife has most of the responsibility (she's breast feeding vs. formula), I haven't been getting much sleep either because I wake up when she cries at night I guess out of instinct. It's been almost five years since a baby has been in the house (Justin turns 5 on August 8th), so while it's like "riding a bike" I'm also 5 years older than last time (35) with more worries (unemployment, money concerns, etc). Plus she was having an issue with jaundice (yellowing of the skin), which required three trips to the hospital the last three days for bloodwork (poor baby, being stuck in the heel). Thankfully the levels never reached "critical stage", and they started to come down today. Here's a picture from tonight I'd like to share, which I've titled, "All snugglely in daddy's arms": Edited July 20, 201015 yr by GMTruckGuy74
July 20, 201015 yr Hopefully the bit of jaundice is the only warranty work you ever have to take her back for.
July 20, 201015 yr Congrats! A much better name than my middle daughters best friends...who are named Lexus and Sienna.... Way to go Roger!
July 21, 201015 yr Hopefully the bit of jaundice is the only warranty work you ever have to take her back for. I concur
