March 6, 200620 yr General Motors has approved the production of a new Saab crossover, according to Automotive News. The vehicle is likely to be built in North America, but will be sold globally, the report said. The goal of the new model is to bring the struggling brand to profitability. In October, Saab cancelled its 9-6X project following GM's sale of its controlling stake in Subaru. The 9-6X was to be based on the Subaru B-9 Tribeca. Sources said the new crossover may share some design elements with the Saab Aero-X Concept. http://www.leftlanenews.com/2006/03/06/saa...ts-green-light/
March 6, 200620 yr is this a small crossover 9-4x(brx sibling) or is this the BIG crossover (9-6x now based on lambda not tribeca )they are talking about?
March 6, 200620 yr I think it will be Lambada but that is just my guess. To be honest I don't think GMC needs a crossover I think Saab should be getting it instead. What they should do is cancel the Acadia and let Saab fine tune what they have and put Saab design ques on it. Then they can cancel the 9-7x. Edited March 6, 200620 yr by rueben44
March 6, 200620 yr maybe it'll be a short lambda with emphasis on 5 person comfort vs. 7/8 passengers?
March 7, 200620 yr Im guessing a 9-4x based compact crossover. "Built in NA but sold globally" I think the Theta premium (or "Theta/Epsilon") architecture is slated to be built in NA, and I don't think Lambda is set to be sold very globally, because it's very much US - sized
March 8, 200620 yr Why did GM sell it's share of Subaru, that's the bigggest mistake that they made this year so far!
