March 8, 200620 yr Love that H.O. This car speaks to me... I love it. Even for 1937 it's very unique. 1937 Bizzare but very interesting.... I'd love to own this Caddy! NOt as much as I'd love a V16 though. 1938 Another rare classic.... that grille is so unconformist, I love it! 1939
March 8, 200620 yr Sad to see a car like this ending up in a Lexus dealership... http://cgi.ebay.ca/Oldsmobile-Aurora-AUROR...1QQcmdZViewItem
March 11, 200620 yr Author Not a big fan of the shortstar. This is a big heavy car... should be pushed not pulled and it needs at least the 4.0L No* either way. All these Auroras are is the next-gen. LSS that got rebadged last minute when the 2nd gen. Aurora was canned when Buick decided the Rivirea was going to sleep wiht the fishes.

LSS that got rebadged last minute when the 2nd gen. Aurora was canned when Buick decided the Rivirea was going to sleep wiht the fishes. It wasn't quite 'last-minute,' but these were destined to be Antareses, not Auroras. Though I haven't personally driven one, I wouldn't expect the 215/230 3.5l Shortstar to have any issues with the '01 Auroras; 205/230 3800s do fine in the LeSabre, Bonnie, and Park Ave. Also, the 2nd-gen Auroras were about 200lbs lighter than the Classics
March 11, 200620 yr That Aurora at the Lexus dealer has been on eBay for several months now. I've driven both the Aurora 3.5 and 4.0. There's no question the 4.0 has more power, but the 3.5 is not unreasonable. The Aurora also loses a couple of hundred pounds with this engine.
March 12, 200620 yr Author Maybe I should have clarfied... I think owning a Northstar is expensive enough even with the 300 horsepower and a smooth V8... having 3/4 of that power and smoothness in a package that's about 9/10 as expensive to maintain is not worht it IMHO. I'd rather have the 3800 if I can't afford a V8. I'm not a big fan if V6s in general. Much prefer an Inline-6 over a V6. The 3800 though is a special engine indeed.
