March 15, 200620 yr I work a ridiculous amount of hours, but I also squeeze in 2 grad courses at night during the semester. Yeah, nuts is the word. Next week, on the semester system, is Spring Break so I ONLY have to go to my full-time day job. Each "book-end" weekend to the break is therefore "free." I'm going hot springing this weekend and to Las Vegas next Friday / Saturday / Sunday (I am itching for some sun and warm temperatures). Las Vegas is so relaxing ... and you can have the best time without even putting a quarter in a slot machine (poolside, Lake Mead, cheap abundant food, entertainment). What are any of you doing/where are any of you going?
March 15, 200620 yr I'm putting a cam, pushrods, valvesprings, headers, rear end gears, limited slip differential, and a tune into my car...
March 15, 200620 yr Nothing planned for the designated "spring break" week. Though i probably sohuld decide soon what I want to do this spring/summer

March 15, 200620 yr Well, yesterday, I had my wisdom teeth removed, so I suppose I'll be spending the rest of the week relaxing, maybe catching up on some reading, and eating lots of pudding.

You lived in Vegas for 10 years and now you live in a city that looks more deserted than Brookville, PA?! How do you manage?

Chargerino, I just stay away from the casino floor! It feels very wide open to me...and those BOOOFFETs...and it sure beats being at work. I guess if you have to live there, it could be stressful. But, for me, it's a treat to go there.

March 15, 200620 yr Author Chas and I are off to Ft. Lauderdale and the Bahamas for a week starting tomorrow. Cool. I would like to go to the Grand Bahama Island. Easy to do from MIA/FLL. I'll do that sometime.

March 15, 200620 yr My spring break is in roughly a week. Me and a friend are going to London. It is my first time out of the country since the Caribbean in 2004 and I am looking forward to it. I need a break, I need to travel, school sucks. Anyway, the trip cost $600 for 5 day/4 night hotel (Holiday Inn Express, pretty nice for a HI) and airfare, which we thought was pretty good. This is the off-season so prices are low. The exchange rate is horrible, though. We are flying on Air India, probably another reason it was so cheap. We will have to bring our own food.
March 15, 200620 yr Spring break for me has been going around doing internship interviews. I just got back from one today, but I really wasn't impressed with the interviewers. All the other interviews I have been to so far, the people were warm and friendly...but the one I just got back from now, they just seemed kind of cold and distant. It didn't feel like a place I would enjoy working for three months. I was supposed to go to San Diego with a friend, but a wrench got thrown in that when I realized my class trip to New York was going to cost a lot, and I figured I should stick around and try to get an internship for the summer. So I'm stuck here in Iowa, but the weather hasn't been too bad lately. Today it's supposed to be sunny and in the 50s. A few of my friends took a road trip down to Atlanta in a wheezy old Caravan that's probably sitting on the shoulder of I-75 right now. Kinda glad I didn't go on that one. Last week was hell for me though. I had 3 tests (two on Friday), a model due Friday, a project due Thursday, and a job interview Friday afternoon. I went to that interview with only 1.5 hours of sleep in me, but it went over really well so it must've been all the Vault soda I drank beforehand. A little off-topic, but has anyone tried Vault yet? I picked up 4/$1.00 at the grocery store last week and it's not too bad. For the price they're selling for 20 oz. bottles, you can't beat it.
March 15, 200620 yr Spring break for me has been going around doing internship interviews. Same with me. I have a full day lined up for Friday: lunch with one firm, then running off to another for several 30-minute interviews. That should be interesting, considering I have no idea how to get around in Boston even though I've lived 15 minutes away for 10 years. Regarding Vault, Coke representatives came to campus and gave it away for free a few weeks ago. I took a few but still haven't opened them.

I have never been there and will have to go!Air India. I would have to be offered a serious discount to travel on something that smells like a flying Indian restaurant...if it does. I take it you are picking it up at JFK because I doubt they come into PHL. And if it's a jumbo, it will be more fun. Report back!

I got the tickets from the travel agency today and the fare was cheaper than the taxes/fees/misc charges. Rediculous. You are correct, though, we will be flying out of JFK on a 747-400. I have read some stories about people flying on Air India and they are pretty funny.
