October 8, 201015 yr So, has anyone attended the AACA Eastern Region Fall Meet this week, or planning to head that way tomorrow? As of now I have all intentions of going there tomorrow morning. This will be my 21st year attending the show (rain, sleet, snow, not even MUD <anyone remember those days?> can stop me ). I will be sure to post a reply on my observations of this year's event afterwards. BTW, here's the link for the 2009 aerial shot of the event: http://www.hersheyaaca.org/images/arialphotos/2009.pdf
October 8, 201015 yr I want to go, but the Toronado won't make the trip yet (still needs tires and exhaust), and I waited too long to get a rental
October 8, 201015 yr Talked about going, but now cannot. Please sir, post some delectable photographs if you come over.
October 9, 201015 yr Author Will do, ocnblu!! Truck is loaded with the little guy's Radio Flyer wagon, the water bottles are chillin' in the fridge, the snacks are waiting to be packed in the cooler bag in the morning, and the batteries are on the charger for the digital camera. Financially this will be the worst year I've attended, but I won't let that get me down for what I consider my "super bowl" of car shows
October 9, 201015 yr Playin' roadie for my son's band's show tommorow, and I really should work Sunday. Damn.
October 13, 201015 yr Author Went, saw, enjoyed. Will post pictures soon (started a new job Monday and haven't had the time at night to post) Edited October 16, 201015 yr by GMTruckGuy74
October 16, 201015 yr Author The weather was beauitful, probably the best weather out of the past 10-12 years. I was a little surprised at the amount of people in attendance (seemed light compared to other years); vendor areas and car corral areas were not as crowded, and the car show area was busy but it wasn't bad getting pictures (sometimes in the past you'd have to wait 5-10 minutes to get a shot). I was happy with the outcome of trucks this year, seems every year the amount of trucks multiples and this year GMs '55-57 and '67-'72 trucks grew. I was disappointed with the amount of miney I had to "shop" in the vendor area, being unemployed at this time was noty fun (I came only home with Hemming's 2011 Pickup Truck Calendar and the little guy came home with a 1/25th Dodge Challenger police car - though there was a lot more I wish I could have bought). Instead of spending a majority of the time in the vendor area, my friend and I (along with the little guy) spent more time in the car show area this year. I will post some pictures below for you to enjoy...
October 17, 201015 yr Author Sorry for the delay, here's the next set... Especially for Oldsmoboi... an original 1,235 mile '83 Olds Toronado for sale ($23,900):
October 17, 201015 yr Wow, a lot of cool ass stuff! But... the '73 Grand Ville convertible stands out for me... it's got the same exterior color combo as my '73 Catalina. Thanks, GMTG.
October 18, 201015 yr Author No problem ocnblu! There was a ton of cool stuff on display there, and not only from GM (though that's my focus while there,as evident from the pics being posted). Below is some more... Well, that pretty much wraps it up. Oh, here's the little guy (Justin, 5 years-old), how he got around the show: And at the required stop at Hershey's Chocolate World visitors center at the end of the long day:
October 18, 201015 yr Great pics, R! Wouldn't it be great if there were canopied wagons the adults could get pulled around Hershey in ?
