1979 Buick Only 299 miles!

Featured Replies

It is a thoroughly undesireable POS in new condition. A bustle-back 6 window post sedan in WHITE! Give me a break! I'll bet all seals in the major components are rotten and it will need major mechanical work to run right. No way this is collectible.

It's not collectible, therefore would make a great brand new car for only $6800. Some rims (not too large) would do wonders for it- it's not bad looking at all, just Super Vanilla.

Too funny, and only 30 miles from me! If I had money to burn I'd buy it! :P

I WANTED ONE OF THOSE REALLY BAD WHEN I WAS GROWING UP!!!!!

STILL LOVE THOSE FASTBACKS! They were like Citations but more interesting.

Wow, a car I would actually not take over mine ;)

Awsome!!!

I love the quirky styling and weird proportions. I want the damn thing.

It's brand new for christ's sake. I should buy it and throw my Camaro motor in it.

I love Buicks. I really do. But this is simply a lousy-looking car. Of all colors, white? No thanks.

Put a Grand National Turbo V6... that would be an interesting sleeper...

I dont' think I've ever seen one like that. RivieraRanch is right, though, that thing's gonna need a mechanical overhaul from not being run.

Looks like some [who claim to know about cars] still believe the myth that a car is "preserved" if not driven.

From somone who knows: "I'll bet all seals in the major components are rotten and it will need major mechanical work to run right. No way this is collectible. "

I know of a few instances in my family where a low mile old car was bought thinking of it as "like new". Well, how about valve jobs from dried seals? How about driveshafts breaking from old age?

Those $1 million dollar 'never driven' collector cars are never driven for the same reasons! Anyone who buys this, to drive daily, would have to replace many parts that wear with aging.

Absolutely.

It depends. I bought my '64 GP in '86 with a '71 inspection sticker in the window. Yes- it sat (outside) for 15 years. Rebuilt the carb & resealed the gas tank & she ran like a bat out of hell.

Finally, I can have a piece of the dream lifestyle of a 1970s accountant.

the fastback 442 was like the car i wanted when i was in junior high. not sure why. a buddy in HS had a 75 442 that ROCKED. the fastback version i think i liked because it was so peculiar and unique. of course, i own an Aztek and also had an oval taurus.
