V8 + Automatic, can be driven anywhere, comes with extra parts... all for $10k (which I'm about $9k short)...

My birthday is coming up next month, and this would be the present of a lifetime (hint, hint) :AH-HA:

Love it, I have thought hard along the same lines.

If I had the money to buy it, I'd eventually want it to look something like this (not sure about what color I'd want though):

Of course there's this mislabeled '56 GMC for sale too on CL in the Philadelphia region:

It's only $4k, and even though it looks like a basketcase early CL ads this summer showed the extra parts you'd get, namely a much better looking cab with doors. It's still about $3k out of my price range :(

I like its current look.

Oh, I kinda do to and would enjoy it that way until I could make it the way I'd want. The upper & middle grille bars would have to be corrected though as soon as I got it; they and the bumper are all suppose to be either painted white or chromed. I wonder if it has it's original V8 engine and Hydramatic transmission? I did e-mail the seller for the price, but hate to "kick the tires" with any other questions since I know I'm not in the position to make the purchase.

The rougher one still looks like a good foundation for a true resto project to me.

The other one gives me a resto-rod vibe (one that I like).
