this might be easy for you guys... but its fun anyway...

what post 1970 car (not chevelle) built by a GM company not only out powered all of its competitors, but also the corvette and is renowned as the last mainstay of performance cars from that era? bonus points for horsepower and torque numbers

Yah, that's the one. I'm not sure what the actual horsepower and torque was, but for some reason, I feel like it should have been somewhere around 270 and 400. I'm pretty sure its horsepower numbers were slipping too by 74, but it was still in much better shape than its competition.

What, you don;t like the Mustang II? :rolleyes:

74 super duty was right... and camino... the 73 SD was rated at 310 horse... there was no actual difference between output... just GM passed that company wide "no more than 300 horsepower" thing... but yes 290 horse and 390 ft/lbs... thats 20 horse and 15 ft/lbs over the corvette of the time... amazing what pontiac managed to sneak by top GM brass AND the EPA
