March 23, 200619 yr Similar, especially the front end, but nothing more than many cars these days. If you would have posted it with a Vibe to compare, I never would have thought it looked like one. The bimmer is 10X hotter though IMO Edited March 23, 200619 yr by Dragon
March 23, 200619 yr Author The bimmer is hot but so damn bmw-generic that it looks like a 5-series chop. OK, OK... I know it's a chop... You didn't have to post three times didn't you?
March 24, 200619 yr BMW's answer to the R-class, it looks like.. That was exactly what I thought. I've been seeing more and more of the R class on the road too. Still a little odd looking though...
March 24, 200619 yr I can't understand why BMW needs the V5 and the X6 (or for that matter what the difference between them is supposed to be).
March 25, 200619 yr I can't understand why BMW needs the V5 and the X6 (or for that matter what the difference between them is supposed to be). The V5 is a wagon, BMW's answer to the R-class... and the X6 is supposed to be a 4dr 'coupe'...BMW's answer to the CLS, it looks like...BMW is just keeping up with the Joneses so to speak...pursuing the same market niches that M-B has expanded into.. March 25, 200619 yr There seems to be some debate as to what the X6 is. I've heard two stories: 1) It's essentially a BMW CLS as seen above. A so-called “four-door coupe.” 2) It's a more “athletic”, FX-like version of the X5. The picture below represents the second interpretation.
March 25, 200619 yr Interesting, but very unattractive. Both of them. Those doors need to go back on the 1997 LR Discovery from whence it came.

I've heard both also...the 2nd one would be more consistent with something named X6, i.e. SUV/crossover.. I saw a completely different interpretation in a British car mag that looked like a sleeker X5. For the CLS competitor, I'm not sure a good name would be, as there isn't any room between the 5- and 6- series..
March 31, 200619 yr Wow, that first Illustartion is sexy...a new BMW that looks sexy? Is the sky falling or what?
March 31, 200619 yr I don't really care for it much. The rear looks like it'd have poor visability, and the arse looks like it's up in the air.
