March 24, 200619 yr Just a small blurb from WCF stating that Mallett is starting working on their first V8-powered Sky. It's going to be a mini-Corvette in looks and performance now. World Car Fans: Mallett Cars Takes Possession of 2006 Saturn Sky
March 24, 200619 yr The package itself, the basic one is the price of another Solstice at the intro price, i.e. $19995.
March 24, 200619 yr Why not black? Black cars are hot, except that it's a pain to keep clean. Their Solstice was black, too. A color like Bluestone, Silver Graphite, or even Sunburst Yellow would work better by accentuating the differences between the two, IMO.
March 25, 200619 yr I don't know about Yellow. Saw the press photo of the Solstice GXP and absolutely disgused by it. The red one was so much better.
March 25, 200619 yr The thing I don't like about the Mallet Solstice is that they paint the grill black too and it looks too monotone. I would assume they could do something other than black if you wanted them too.
March 25, 200619 yr If you can afford a Mallet Solstice/Sky, you can afford to have a shop paint the trim any color you want...
March 27, 200619 yr What the hell is the point of a $40K mallet anything when a standard Corvette will eat it's lunch in every relavent measurement including MPG-for the same price (more or less)...and the depreciation of an altered pontiac (think hopped-up Fiero) would be unacceptable. Fun for 1 (or two etc) but I'll take a real car anyday. Spend time on the Chevy StingRay and quite f@#kin around already!!

A) it's not GM that's doing it - it's aftermarket - so GM isn't "f-ing around". Would the same money spent on a 'vette get a better performing car? probably. You can't argue that people are buying them, though. It's obviously not for you, or many people. I also fail to see how a Mallet Solstice/Sky fails to be a "real car"...
