Beginning Friday, April 7 (continuing April 14, 21 and 28), I'm hosting a radio show 8p-11p central time, with 8-8:05, 9-9:05 and 10-10:05 being newscasts. I signed a contract (I'm paying for the airtime) with the local radio station (WRMN 1410 AM) to host "CD Showcase", something I've been wanting to do ever since I graduated college. If it "takes off", I may be able to get advertisers to offset some of the costs ... and continue doing the show throughout the year. We'll see .

I could drive my '76 1/2-ton up there, its still got the original AM unit in there with a single speaker (I've got a modern am/fm/cd head unit in the center console, but I do like the AM radio too.

And, as for that extra unit, I've been thinking of leaving the original AM radio in my '76 ... and getting an FM/AM radio unit to put elsewhere, but I'm not sure where that'd work. It would fit in the glove compartment, but I use that . He he he

glove box for a stereo hiding hole.....feasible, but like you said, you'd lose your space. See with mine, I built a center console to go in there, and I wanted to keep the orignal AM unit since it still worked just fine, but at the same time be able to crank out the tunes with a modern unit too.

My AM radio still works ... sometimes. So, I want to replace it, but keep it for "safekeeping". A console wouldn't look good in the MC, I don't think....

It's been 10 years since I last hosted a radio show, having hosted "The Saturday Evening Mostly Country Music Show" for 3 years on my college's radio station, WBKE, 89.5 FM, N Manchester IN, ending that show in May 1996, right before I graduated. Since then, I've had a lot of different experiences, met a lot of people, and added heavily to my musical collection. So, now, I'm very excited about hosting "CD Showcase" on Elgin IL's WRMN 1410 AM ... perhaps even more excited than I am about getting my older 4 Chevrolet Monte Carlos out for this year in a few weeks.
