Yeah both him and John Gibson. I like these guys and agree with most of thier veiws but this is bad mouthing only because of the bailout (which I was against but won't keep me from buying their vehicles).

Rush is basically approaching the issue on the basis of politics, not product. Not fair to the product, but that's his angle.

Today's hybrids barely exceed the best of their non-hybrid competitors for fuel mileage and cost of ownership. They are simply cars with all the mechanical complexity of a conventional gasoline-engine driveline, plus all the electrical complexity of a second electric-powered driveline--integrated about as well as any two incompatible systems can be.

Rush is a complete idiot, but this Babiasz guy isn't too far off. He talks about the Volt through rose-colored glasses like it's the savior of the automotive world.

What ever.

Talk radio is what it is. Stir the people up and they call in. Shock value works from Rush to Howard. If Obama was against the Volt he would just be singing it's praise.

That is how political talk radio works. If you agree all the time no one would tune in.

Heck Hanity praises his Caddy Hybrid SUV all the time.

I think if the Volt made raisins and sunshine for all, some people would be all weirded out, It does neither (the Volt). The success of the Volt depends on our driving habits. Sure, if you are Rush Limbaugh, range is no object.
