December 17, 201015 yr Here is the link to an auction for a really nice 1973 Mercury Cougar XR-7 Convertible (Other than admiring it, I have no affiliation with the seller or car): http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mercury-Cougar-XR-7-Convertable-/270679186974?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item3f05bc9e1e#v4-39 It is extraordinary for its rare color combination (very classy) and its clean undercarriage and under the doors--basically, it appears free of corrosion--quite uncommon for the seventies Ford products. The after market wheels give an attractive "stance" to the car also. Of course, in 1973, the neat sequential turn signals were still present. It was great how the Mustang and Cougar shared a frame and 351 V-8, yet the Cougar featured a larger/longer trunk, slightly modified dash with more gauges, real leather inserts on the high-backed bucket seats and other cool details. This example features the tasteful application of the hood ornament of a newer model Mercury Cougar. Overall, this is a rare collectible! Edited December 17, 201015 yr by ClassyEldo
