Here's my third, final, and favorite entry: GMC Yukon Z71 All Terrain

post-1757-0-97521800-1295417203.jpg

Z71 normally says Off Road by the badge, but I figure in the spirit of the concept, and since this looks like it could conquer the terrain of another planet, "All Terrain" suits. I chose "Yukon because later 2-door models switched to that name along with their 4-door brethren, and I think that "Yukon" sounds tougher and far less goofy than "Jimmy".

The wheelbase and overall length are a bit shorter, but long enough that it doesn't appear stubby. The doors are pretty radical, which I like, and allow more access to the back without requiring a suicide door. Front fascia has been tweaked a bit: slightly smaller grill and larger lower intake and smoked out headlights.

I wanted to go for something more interesting than the boring door design every truck has used in history, so I decided to think outside the box.

It has coupe doors!

Cool touch.

I get what you were trying to do with the doors, but trucks have never had coupe doors and I can't just seem to accept that part of your design. However, I think minus the door issue, you rock one mean truck there DF!!

oh ok

Pfft, three submissions from DF?! Obviously the KFAP has the competition unnerved.

Know what time it is? The time to admit defeat and send me that watch.

I've another entry coming that's like nothing previously posted, and nothing like I hinted in my other posts. Hopefully I can get it done tonight. If not I'll just put it in Member Showcase when it's done.

I'm not going to be home tonight, and I'm at work right now, so I've got no chance at participating. Besides, I'm not at all a truck guy and there's no chance I'd have at beating quite a few of these entries. They're freakin' good.

Ah well, maybe next time then.

But I don't buy for a minute the idea that you couldn't compete - I've seen enough of your work to know better!

haha Believe me. I've tried sketching some ideas out for this and I'm not at all creative when it comes to recreating an '80s-'90s truck/SUV haha.

After scanning it, it looks a lot more (besides grainy) like a GMT-800, but this is a half-hour effort for you Camino lol. Not gonna win, but it's something damn it!

Not really a fan of the '73-'77 El Camino door glass in one of the entries. I mean, the donor vehicle is cool, but it just does not fit with the rest of the chop. No harmony.

I disagree, but different strokes for different folks. Tell you what, you can have the ColoBlazer and I'll have the Yukon All Terrain. ;)

And that's a wrap!

An amazing job everyone, well done!

NOS: Try reposting that last one so I can include it.

Z: Sorry that your second entry missed the deadline, but I can't wait to see it!

Trial 2. If this doesn't work, PM me your email, Camino, and I'll send it to you and maybe you can post it?

I just reviewed all of the entries, and man, is this ever a tough decision to make!

Excellent, excellent, entries.

I'll post a new thread once I have decided on a winner.

In the meantime, I welcome comments on all of these designs.

A ton (pun intended!) of entries were submitted by such creative artists, and many of them are such worthy competitiors.

However, in my opinion, one stood out above the rest, because it reminds me of the one truck/SUV I so wanted in the '90s - the '92-'97 GMC Yukon 3-door. I'd place my vote, if I was being asked :P , on z28luvr01's design as it captures the GMT-400 generation very closely (all it needs is a full metal top to make me completely happy):

I really want that freaking watch:
