December 24, 201015 yr I just managed to hit 50 mpg in my CRX. If I can do that and in this car, why would I ever want a hybrid? Perfect mix of utility, economy, and most importantly, fun. Just thought I'd share...
December 24, 201015 yr CRX weighed less than a ton. A non hybrid CRZ of sim size would have quite a bit of extra weight because of the safety performance required plus all the extra wiring and stuff. Even the Fit is heavy in comparison. But yeah, say a 2200 pound CRX with say a 1.5 litre. That might push mid forties on the hwy.
December 24, 201015 yr Very cool, Vipes, and very true, re: hybrids. They suck. And to think, you were able to reach 50 mpg, even with all that bondo on your asscheeks!
December 24, 201015 yr Curious: how, exactly, do you measure 'utility' ?? It will out tow and out haul your Duramax diesel, silly...
December 24, 201015 yr I've 'done time' in a CRX; for one person, traveling locally, with a small quantity of items, it could have a 'perfect' amount of utility, I suppose, tho it's no more than any other car (besides a smart & a Viper). Curious that you bothered to mention it, is all. Edited December 24, 201015 yr by balthazar
December 25, 201015 yr i've hit 37mpg in my car, before, and i can haul 8ft peices of lumber in it too... though, not plywood.
December 25, 201015 yr Author I've 'done time' in a CRX; for one person, traveling locally, with a small quantity of items, it could have a 'perfect' amount of utility, I suppose, tho it's no more than any other car (besides a smart & a Viper). Curious that you bothered to mention it, is all. Basically. It doesn't compromise cargo space as much as most 2-seaters do, especially for its small size. And while Japanese market CRX's were available with a backseat, it's better used as cargo space. Leg room back there is non-existent. Don't wreck it. There wouldn't be any BV left. Oh, there would be some of me left... Just, in a slightly altered form.
December 26, 201015 yr What more do you need? omg. do 2 other people help get that out of there, or just go down the ramp like that... route the exhaust up much higher?
January 4, 201115 yr Author On a related note, thanks to the tipping residents of Dubois, my delivery job has just paid for my CRX after 3 months.
