NAIAS question

Featured Replies

Yes.

There were very few concepts from anyone.

Porsche, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes (if you can call an electric SLR a concept), Ford, GMC, and a Volvo with "Electric" decals slapped on the hood of a C30.

I think that was it with concepts.

So the GMC Granite concept from last year didn't show up again? I guess that is a dead end.

Car shows today are soooo boring when compared to the early 2000s.

Such a bummer.

Wanted to see that little chip of stone called Granite LUV... but alas...

NAIAS was a big let down this year. I was hoping to see something from Cadillac, Lincoln and maybe some new small trucks.

I remember the 3 years I went to the Detroit Auto Show it was fun..'95,'96,'97. Lots of changes since then in cars.

I wasn't expecting for it to show up at the NAIAS since it was a "design study" by the California Design Center. However, I would have been pleasantly surprised by it's arrival there. I think GM/GMC is missing out on a great opportunity to market the Granite twins. On the positive side, there's still time for the Granite LUV to make the auto show rounds this year in Chicago and New York, if GM reconsiders showing it off. And it would be great if it could make an appearance at the upcoming All-GM Nationals show in Carlisle, PA (June).

And pictures/video of GM's only concept still haven't been posted because....

I'm left wondering just when the hell we're going to see a production XTS.

2012 NAIAS? If it's supposed to be a MY 2013 release...
