786-879-6669 - strange cell phone calls

Featured Replies

Has anyone received a cell phone call from 786-879-6669 (traced to a metro PCS phone in Miami) that leaves a message, in garbled Spanish? I have checked on the internet and found that many people have been getting these calls. I've complained to T-Mobile, but those on Cingular and Verizon have also been victim. The number has called my cell phone multiple times the last month (auto-dialer) and when you call the number back, there is no answer or busy.

The same thing happened today to a friend of mine (he said the area code was 876, probably meant 786). He's using T-Mobile. I'll have to ask him to play the message for me.

Sounds like something straight out of John A. Keel's The Mothman Prophecies.

He didn't get a message... oh well!

(tapping foot)

OK Walt, where are my enchiladas? :hissyfit: :AH-HA_wink:

When I was at the bar some chick gave me the # 867 5309.

For some reason nobody picks up?? :cussing:

I got a message sorta like that, but my crappy Nextel/Sprint phone doesn't show what number called me.

I kept getting some weird number.. 514-904-7562

It says it's "Tooie" from the government grants department. You have to press a number to go through to an operator, which is actually a message that says "this user's voicemail is incorrect" and hangs up on you.

You can also dial 9 to stop the calling, but I've done that three times already..

Camino I was joking haha. I'd laugh in her face if I ever got that #.

I've had that happen to me on a few occasions as well. Very annoying.

I'd have thought you'd have learned eventually...
