March 3, 201115 yr System of a Down will be performing a reunion tour beginning in May. On November 29, 2010, following several weeks of internet rumors, System of a Down officially announced that they would be reuniting for a string of large European festival dates in June 2011.[/url] In their reunion statement posted on their website, the band was unclear as to the extent of their reformation. It read, "We have no master plan of sorts -- we are playing these shows simply because we want to play together again as a band and for you, our amazing fans." On March 1, 2011 the band announced they will headline several North American tours during the month of May. It's about time. This gives me something to be excited about since everything else in my life is depressing at the moment. Not that any of the U.S. shows are close enough to personally attend, but perhaps they'll announce some east coast shows later in the year. Here's to hoping.
March 4, 201115 yr Author I have a new opinion... I might as well plan a road trip. It's SOAD afterall and I might never have the chance to do so again.
March 4, 201115 yr 5 years is hardly worth calling something a "reunion". Some bands like putting 5+ years between albums. It will be nice to hear something new from System of a Down, though. Now for a REAL reunion... The Cars are reuniting and releasing a new album in May called "Move Like This". The tracks already posted are fairly good. Edited March 4, 201115 yr by SAmadei
