April 6, 200619 yr Anyone else coming out to the NY auto show on Saturday the 15th? Edited April 6, 200619 yr by Sixty8panther
April 6, 200619 yr As of right now, the more realistic day for me to go is probably the 22nd. Things could change, though.
April 6, 200619 yr Author I have two roadtrips planed for April. 15th - NYIAS 22nd - Albany, NY (Datsun-Nissan Gathering)
April 6, 200619 yr I'll be there on multiple occasions to cover it for C&G. I'm not sure exactly which days yet.
April 7, 200619 yr Author Get lots of Saturn pics! No promisses, but I'll try to be nice and keep that in mind.
April 14, 200619 yr Author Darn it, Speeding Penguin can't come along to NY with me, might have to go solo. Hmm.... perhaps I'll call XP and se if he's up for another crazy raodtrip in the Datsun. Too bad Marcia has dibs on the Q for the weekend since she's going on a pretty long trip herself. The novelty of the Infiniti has not worn off yet so I drive it pretty much when ever I can. Anyone in my area * Cough-COUGH, Variance cough, clears throat * wanna tag along with me in the Maxima? Anyone else going on the 15th period? You
April 14, 200619 yr ill probably be going sometime next week... i just need to remind my dad about it... i dunno about saturday tho... maybe...
April 14, 200619 yr Sorry, Sixty. I'm not even going to be around this weekend. I'm going to be out and about aiding relatives elsewhere.
April 14, 200619 yr Author It's all good, I've driven furthere alone and I'll do it again. As a matter of fact I might take a roadtrip to AZ this year. It would be super cool to go see the Grand Canyon again & visit Duffy in the Phoenix area. If I had the money I'd drive that little Maxima to California just to say I did it. The gas does add up quickly once you start talking about like 4000 miles round trip.
April 15, 200619 yr Author Off I go. It's 9:30 and by 11:00 I should be showered, shaved, on the pike reading mapquest directions at like 85mph. Just have to gas up the Datsun and fill up my "tank" as well... perhaps Fruit Loops will do the trivk. I've been eating that sugary excuse for a breakfast food a lot recently. Just in case anyone can meet up with me PM me and I'll try to check my email once I'm in NY, they will hopefully have an internet hookup there. For those of you who already have my pennsylvania (work) cell number (area code 484) I'll have that phone on me so just call. Edited April 15, 200619 yr by Sixty8panther
April 15, 200619 yr Have a safe trip Silvester! Sorry I wasnt able to tag along, just with having a bunch of family over tomorrow and stuff the timing wasnt the best. Next time though. Remember to get a pic of you IN the Camaro..... LOL
April 15, 200619 yr For anyone who cares, I just spoke with The Sly and he's now in CT. Ross "accidentaly" saved him from getting a 105mph speeding ticket by calling and him slowing down to answer the call. (just as he was going past a speed trap). Anyone know any good parking garages in the area that he could park at for cheap?
April 15, 200619 yr For those of you who are interested, which seems to be noone at all, our good friend Silvester is staring at the Camaro concept as I type this. And he has been for the last half hour or so.
April 16, 200619 yr Author I have to make this quick since I'm "borrowing" someone's network. I'm sitting in the Datsun in NYC typing this on my laptop. My car is less than 10 feet away from the Ground Zero fence. Seeing the stark absence of the Twin Towers & the rest of the trade center has brought back all those sad, depressing, disturbing and scary feelings that we all felt on Sept. 11th 2001. But somehow the reality & first person perspective of this cold, hard, concrete image, the relative juxtaposition of this vibrant and beautiful city & the viceral absence of the WTC in this footprint of mega-million-dollar chunk of realestate is somehow over whelmingly depressing. Standing next to this excuse for a construction site, less than a block from the Mariott where I stayed in 1997 is surreal. My room overlooked the towers, well I could only see one of them from my window but still, their absence is just so very startling. Like that dream where you fall from a great distance & just before impact you wake up all in a panic. Anyway it's 1:00am and I've got a LONG drive ahead of me but I'll leave you with one quick message. Forget everythig you've heard, read, seen & hoped for in regards to the Camaro concept. This thing is so damn HOT and so much more incredible in the flesh it's rediculous. This car really is the equivelant of SEX on wheels. For once the hype is true. The YF22 elements really are there in the design and yet it has Camaro DNA of the most pure-bred & muscular variety. Just like the blonde chick (Chevy representative) on the stand said: If theey do not build this car, fast & exactly as is then the whole company is "certifiable". I'll sell my liver & both my kidneys to afford one! x 100,000,000 Peace, I'm out. Edited April 16, 200619 yr by Sixty8panther
April 16, 200619 yr Author Well... here's a start. Me in front of the Challenger Concept curtesy of DMX. Next to the Imperial concept... damn these are not photogenic
