March 9, 201115 yr Okay, it's a safe bet that Rod Hatfield Chevy in Lexington, KY paid to rip off the melody of some popular rap song for their annoying jingle ... but I wonder if they paid Mr. Loizou of GM Inside News to use his nifty old 'chop of a future Malibu in their local ad spot here? I didn't record this video, so don't blame me for the shoddy camera work. Anyway, pause the video at the 1 to 2 second mark. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/VA8DNt4kKWg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Yep. It's this: What's even more hilarious besides the fact that there could be a potential, small shiitstorm brew up over this is that no one cared to realize that this isn't an actual GM product.
March 10, 201115 yr The dingdong that made this commercial probably couldn't spot the difference between that and an actual Malibu.
March 10, 201115 yr At the speed the video rolls 99% of the viewers won't notice it's not the current Malibu..besides, who watches TV commercials anymore?
March 10, 201115 yr That looks like it could be morphed into a decent Monte Carlo if you made it a coupe with some appropriate side sculpting. It'll never be a Malibu as the trunk is too long for the current trends.
