Interesting cars you've seen in junkyards lately....

Went to the local pick and pull with my son, Joel and his friend to get a few minor parts for friend's Nissan.

In the yard...

Porsche 944, clean, in the re-builder section, fairly minor left side damage...but hurt just enough I wouldn't want it.

CRX, rebuild able, but in the parts section.

1959 Chevy 4 door post, rusty rocker panels but all there and fairly straight, faded original paint (red) they wanted $1400 for the whole car...

Red Cavi Z24 ragtop, parked with the top down, kind O sad...

A Miata...first time I've seen a Miata in pick and pull...

a 66 GMC 1 ton 2WD long bed, looked like it had been carefully restored a long time ago and then started a long slow decline...you could see where someone had painted the frame, etc...at one time...but a little rough...pretty much picked clean in the parts section.

Three more GMC trucks 67, 70, 72, in Junkyards near by...

a 64 Buick Riviera...rusty drivers floor but otherwise fairly solid...originally blue but repainted black...pretty much stripped clean...

a 69 Pontiac Custom S, coupe, Mayfair Maze, someone must have striped it for a parts car for a GTO or something...passenger door, windshield and trunk lid were about all that was left and usable on the car.

A clean Nissan 240 from the early 1990's...

A late 70's 280 Z, amazingly solid and had been on the road recently, getting stripped down by some Z car fans...

Oh...and a Yugo...and a green on Tan Pontiac Bonnie SSEI

ironically enough, I see a lot of '66 Mustangs. No '65's, and none of them are GT's or Non-GT K-codes though.

You must be in Columbus, OH??? I took the fenders, radiator, gauge cluster, under dash wiring harness, hood springs, and more off of that 66 GMC (I think it is actually a mislabeled 3/4 ton if I'm not mistaken, with upgrades to the rear springs and axle).

What yards did you find these 67, 70, and 72 GMC's in??? The 67 I'd be particularly interested in, or any 60-66. Always interested in the 60-66+ GMC V6 parts...

Thanks!

More parts for my driver '62 GMC 1000 Panel Truck! Slowly restoring it one bit at a time, aka keeping it on the road. Use it for hauling as much as for the awesome looks. Went to this yard with my gearhead dad looking for 95 suburban rear door hinge, and flipped when we saw this thing:

It's now missing a lot more parts. Fenders were nearly rust free, just a little dent in the driver's side. Too bad the yard forklifted it by the cab and ruined the cab and both doors/rockers. Frame looks nice, good for someone's project wiht all the running gear intact. Cab needed floor pans real bad and cab corners, woulda been a nice restoration project if not for the forklift...

Going back for the wiper ams/motor/switch, door handles, and maybe part or all of the steering column so I can delete my 3 on the tree. has an SM420 or SM465 tranny in it. engine long block there, inline 6.

ANYWAYS, PLEASE TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE OTHER YARDS WITH THE 67, 70, & 72!!!!
