August 6, 201114 yr Stupid killers/personal trainers. I signed up for the "personal fitness evaluation" at my new gymnasium, and had my session last evening. Today I am typing with my left incisor because I cannot move anything else. I hope I don't make any mistakes tiping. He said his goal was to make me hate him at the end. He achieved his goal. Ben Gay, you are my loved one.
August 6, 201114 yr *"DON'T BE A PUSSY YOU NANCY BOY!!!"* *"GET YER ASS ON THE BIKE AND GIVE ME 5 MORE MILES!!!!"* lol, just thought I would try to help "motivate" you.
August 6, 201114 yr Well duh, you're gonna have DOMS for a day or two if you aren't used to really working out. You need to RICE (rest, ice, compress, elevate)...take a cold shower (yes, cold, not just lukewarm), and maybe get a massage if it's really bad. Then go back for another session in a day or two. The RICE works for localized muscle soreness, and the cold shower (just 5 minutes or so) really works by contracting the muscles so when you warm up out of the shower, they release the tension more quickly. Oh, and the best way to NOT get full-body DOMS is to keep working out. After a week or two you won't get it to this kind of degree again unless you go lazy for a while.

August 7, 201114 yr PSA of the day from ocn: do not touch weiner after applying Ben Gay to strained muscle tissues... REPEAT... hahahahahaha that was a lesson back in high school. Seriously, I hope you're following some of my advice and not just using Ben Gay/IcyHot, otherwise you'll be disappointed. Oh, and don't take an NSAD...some people recommend an Advil, but more recent research shows that it actually is bad for you and your gym progress.
August 7, 201114 yr Author I'm taking Bayer aspirin and using Ben Gay. Also I am moving my killed arms slowly to mediumly in an effort to loosen them up. I stuck an ice pack on the backs of my upper arms (the most killed spot) for a good while today then took a nap. When I woke up, they hurt like hell. So I'm trying to keep moving and work through the kill. When I go back to the gym tomorrow evening, I am getting on the treadmill and MAYBE getting on a leg thing. The most weight I am lifting for a while will be my 12 pound dumbells until my arms resuscitate. That and punching the air will have to suffice.
August 7, 201114 yr I need someone like this...first to scream at getting me up in the morning, then to work out. Working so much, I can't get myself wrapped around a daily fitness routine. Kill me. Hardcore out of shape, skinny here. You'll adjust...in time. Live the pain. Well, and take it easier, at the same time. Watch out for where that Ben Gay ends up too. Uh oh. Yea if that's how you're feeling now...you need a deep tissue massage, stat.
August 8, 201114 yr LoL Yeah, not quite how the joke goes but you get the idea. BTW: do you have a Flickr account? (actually a serious question)
August 9, 201114 yr Author No sir I do not have one uh those. Side note: my arms were successfully sewn back on today. Still some residual soreness, but I can see... the... HEADLIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Croc, if you've been wanting to give me a deep tissue massage, why dint you say so, you little shrimp scampi you...?
August 9, 201114 yr Nah dude, not my thing...I'm not certified and I don't even have an idea about proper deep tissue techniques--when done right they're great, but they're best left to professionals because you can cause joint and ligament injuries if you don't know what you're doing.
August 14, 201114 yr I'm definitely certified. In fact the men in white coats are hunting for me in the woods right now. O.B. I ask about the Flickr account is because someone has a user name very similar to your username. Also, one time this user posted a shot of a car from a cruise night somewhere in your neck of the woods. Then again it is a popular sort of name: http://www.flickr.com/search/people/?q=oceanblue
