September 3, 201114 yr Two Chevrolet's might be worthwhile also. Cause we all know good things come in twos...
September 3, 201114 yr the custom crew-cab job on that Chevy truck = Awesome. Race cars = Epic. that Baldwin Motion Stingray in the midground on the Corvette pic = fapworthy. Edited September 3, 201114 yr by Turbojett
September 3, 201114 yr Have to say though, I prefer Parnelli's '69 ride better. not just because I prefer '69 Mustangs over '70's, but because I like the paint job better, too.
September 3, 201114 yr I saw the Dan Gurney SCCA Cougar on a vintage ramp truck at Lime Rock once - just something cool about that matched set...
September 3, 201114 yr Aah, color me jealous! I just love all those old Trans Am cars. We really need to get another race series going like that; it's a crime that the biggest representation of American motorsports to the rest of the world is NASCAR. That's not motorsports, it's a soap opera.
September 3, 201114 yr also, look how few sponsor stickers are on those cars compared to a modern NASCAR racer. Those were the days, back when it was all about the car and the driver, not marketing. It was Parnelli Jones' Mustang, not the No. 24 DuPont car.
September 3, 201114 yr Author Which is why I no longer watch NASCAR And why I love SCCA and NASA style racing.... The current American Sedan class in SCCA and the AI class in NASA are kind of a cool successor to the Trans Am class....of yore...
September 4, 201114 yr I stopped watching NASCAR when i was about 14 or 15 and discovered that racecars don't have to go in circles. Now I find Nascar boring and tragic at the same time. I would also add Grand Am to your list of race series', but to a bit of a lesser extent. Sadly though, these don't have the same notoriety as Nascar, so they aren't noticed nearly as much. But it does feel good to see showroom stock race cars like that in more recent pictures. And Sam Posey still races that same Challenger that he did in Trans Am.
