For Sale, or as I prefer, "adoption", is an unrestored original 1959 Pontiac survivor with 20,000 miles. Unfortunately, since Pontiac Historical Services can only go back to 1961, this car is largely undocumented other than it does have the production manifest showing a production date of June 8, 1959. I've been told this Pontiac was sold new in Iowa as a "parade car." I bought the car in 2009 in Bloomington, Indiana from the prior owner who had the car for 10 years. When he purchased it, it had 13,500 miles and when I bought it, it had 19,500 miles. While undocumented, I believe the miles to be correct based on the small amount of wear on the brake and accelerator pedals and the fact that this car has cloth interior which is absolutely perfect.
This car was shown at the Pontiac Oakland Club (POCI) annual convention in Charleston, West Virginia in 2010 and was pictured in the September, 2010 issue of the Club's "Smoke Signals" monthly magazine. At this show, two "survivor auto judges" examined the car and determined it to be very original. The only change since that time has been the replacement of the power brake booster with the dual booster that was introduced in the mid-60's. I have the original booster if the buyer would like to rebuild it and put it back on the car.

This car is a joy and a delight to drive. Typical of the times, it steers with one finger and with the 5 extra inches on it's wide track stance, corners like a dream. This is as close as you will ever come to being able to buy a "new" 1959 Pontiac. The color is Sunset Glow with a Cameo Ivory top and Sunset Glow cloth upholstery complete with "stars" on the white headliner. Options are typical of 1959: Power Steering, Power Brakes, Back-up lights, clock and an AM radio (it works!).

1959 was a watershed year for Pontiac. Pontiac won the coveted Motor Trend "Car of the Year" award. This was the first year for the famed Pontiac "V" emblem, the 389 V8 engine, the wide-track wheelbase and the distinctive split grill used every year hence except 1960.

I am selling this car because I am retired and moving to Florida and I will not have storage space for it. If you're lucky enough to be the winning bidder, her name is "Baby."
