October 5, 201114 yr Strange...seem to recall a mention of it in Collectible Automobile or another magazine. I wonder what's up with the drapery on the right side of the dash? I tv screen behind it, maybe?
October 5, 201114 yr But it's a POS Chevette for what it's worth! Now really I like Chevettes unlike a lot here that probably never spent .1 mile in one. We had 6 in our family over the years & I took my drivers test in my Dads new '76 canary yellow 1.6l 4speed 3.73 final drive. That was the best one I've ever driven.
October 5, 201114 yr IDK Camino in std hatch form they were a good lil ute for us. Took it camping all the time. That or the first Corvair I had
October 5, 201114 yr I remember the Chevette...back in '81, my Dad bought a 2dr Scooter as a tow car for the family motorhome. Cheap and nasty inside. The Escort it was replaced with in '84 was a much nicer subcompact.
October 5, 201114 yr Escort was 5 years newer than Chevette and while GM let it wither Ford updated the Escort. About the only things new in latter years of production were the 5door body shell and BW t50 5spd manual. Updated were over after 82 and sales ended in 87. So yes a 84 Escort is a much newer & fresher car.
October 9, 201114 yr Awful, just awful. It's wicked cool because it's different... and it's RWD... you can't refuse a RWD car based truck!!!! It's also just...unique to say the least. IDK Camino in std hatch form they were a good lil ute for us. Took it camping all the time. That or the first Corvair I had I am kind of with Blu on the Corvair thing...I've been tempted to buy one several times.
