But GM CEO Dan Akerson sees sales being “flattish” for 2012. In a interview with Automotive News, Akerson says GM sees sales of new cars staying flat for 2012 - if the U.S. economy avoids any major disruptions from economic instability in Europe. "As we go into '12, we're looking for kind of a repeat of '11," Akerson said. Akerson predicts total sales to be around 12.7 to 12.8 million vehicles this year.
