November 20, 201114 yr Ignore the big, dumb Hot Wheels car and look at what's on the wall behind it. Make it a touch less thick in the middle and that's what I'm hoping will be in store for the Alpha Camaro.
November 20, 201114 yr Author Nice choices so far, keep 'em coming! 67: my first pic is the Holden Coupe 60, Vonvee chose the Buick Velite, and SS chose the '99 Dodge Charger concept. Here's my next pick: The Kappa-based Chevy Nomad concept
November 20, 201114 yr I'm not a fan of subcompact cars, but the Chevy Groove concept was one of the very few I didn't mind. There's a masculine, muscular quality about it which has eluded most, if not all, subcompacts. It also conveys that sense without looking like a wannabe SUV. November 20, 201114 yr Whoa GMC Granite inspirer. Cooler than the Spark because it looks natural as a 5-door. The Spark is a bait-and-switch dirty trick by Chevrolet... people voted for the Beat, which was a 3-door... the Spark, a 5-door sell-out. Edited November 20, 201114 yr by ocnblu
November 20, 201114 yr Thanx Camino for the reminders it's hell getting old I guess thats why I get my panties in a bunch over thye blue hair jokes I'm closer than further nowadays. Hey you beat me to my all time fave with that Kappa Nomad the earlier version was great but the Kappa was wide enough and you can't beat that turbo ecotec for the power/mpg balance .
Even as recently as this we had somewhat inspired design... You don't see this level of cohesive detail in production (or concept) today. Edited November 20, 201114 yr by FUTURE_OF_GM
November 21, 201114 yr The Groove looks more similar than different to the xB...same blocky shape, similar greenhouse, similar fender bulges, etc. Just a pair of odd little boxes.
November 21, 201114 yr I remember the Forty-Nine. It was gorgeous. and then Ford went and ruined it by making a convertible in a really gaudy color.
November 21, 201114 yr also, while not VERY recent, but who could forget these? Edited November 21, 201114 yr by Turbojett
November 22, 201114 yr I would not call the Groove 'inspired', per say. Compared to the trash we're getting these days, I think it was.
November 22, 201114 yr Author That last Buick concept (LaCrosse?) had a beautiful profile (2nd pic).... Yup. That car is even more amazing in person.
November 23, 201114 yr and of course, these: I also think the Borrego was a great IDEA (in an ugly package) Edited November 23, 201114 yr by FUTURE_OF_GM
November 23, 201114 yr LOT of stuff in here I think is overrated or I just plain don't care for... but the Interceptor isn't one of them. Va-voom.
November 23, 201114 yr I never understood why everyone went ga-ga over the Interceptor. I find it pretty meh style-wise.
November 23, 201114 yr I already posted that one Actually, you didn't, BP. You posted the Holden Efijy, not the Buick Blackhawk. Both purple and great designs, any of us could have done the same thing before our morning caffeine. ;-)
November 24, 201114 yr I already posted that one Actually, you didn't, BP. You posted the Holden Efijy, not the Buick Blackhawk. Both purple and great designs, any of us could have done the same thing before our morning caffeine. ;-) I posted twice on 11/20: the Holden at 10:34 and the Buick at 10:37. After doing a forced reload in the browser, I get the hotlink error...prior to that there was a nice big Blackhawk picture! Dangers of doing an image search on the internet I guess. Sorry about the confusion... If I were forced to pick between the two, I'd pick the Holden anyway Edited November 24, 201114 yr by BigPontiac
November 24, 201114 yr Author I really like the Holden (more in some ways), but I'd still pick the Blackhawk - drop dead gorgeous.
November 26, 201114 yr '01 Ford Forty-Nine :: Of the ones posted, these are the 2 that I wish had been made..... November 27, 201114 yr Author Yeah, Ford should have rushed right to production on that one. The concept is spot-on.
November 27, 201114 yr Man, I had forgotten about all of those except the Jeep... Ford DEFINITELY should have sent that Bronco straight into production!
November 29, 201114 yr I agree, the Bronco would have been one helluva a product for Ford to offer... I'd even be tempted to look at buying one. Now the two-door Tahoe... that should have definitely been on the production schedule in 2000. I remember reading that the 4WD white one you pictured was destroyed after being used as a factory run-about for a few years. There was also a red 2-door Tahoe, in 2WD, that was pretty production ready that also went to the scrapper. Stoopid GM... EDIT: did a quick Google search and found the red one: Edited November 29, 201114 yr by GMTruckGuy74
November 29, 201114 yr This should form the basis for the next Cherok -- errr, I mean Liberty: I also liked the original Commander concept from the late '90s. Edited November 29, 201114 yr by black-knight
November 29, 201114 yr Author aren't we starting to get rather liberal with the use of the word "recent"? Not so far. I pegged the early nineties as a cut-off in the first post.
