Cheers or Jeers: 1980 Toyota Corolla

ok, this is the scarryist car i have ever driven.clean arizona title, we were told that it has a 1971 corvette 454, some sort of big valve heads, alum manifold, big doubble pumper holly, nice cam, ( sound great out the tailpipe) all under the car, 5 row rad, electric fans, runs 160 dagrees all day long in traffic, 410 8 1/4 rear, the block has been decked so no #s on the pad, turbo 400, all lights turn siginals, are working as factory. I do not know chevy stuff but will try to answer ?s as they are asked.

the body is 100% rust free, we drove it az all last year as a every day driver, 2 unneccery accleration tickets later we shiped it to mn for this years CAR CRAFT nationals, it was a hit. pictures will be in car craft soon.

WHAT IT NEEDS

better front suspention, at least minni tubs it just wont stay on the ground, it has no wipers, no back seat, paint is great 15 feet away but has sand marks in it, it needs someone to take it to the next level.

it drives great but it is running 4200 rpm at 55 mph ,

you can drive it accros town BUT NOT ON THE FREEWAY.

please call with any ??????????? before bidding as we are selling it for what the motor is worth.

Hmmm ... It's an interesting sleeper car. It's also nice in the sense that, if you ever grew bored with it, you could hunt down a nice A or G-Body roller and do a little transplant surgery.

*not a snow/ice vehicle* :D

Now see, those Corollas were not for old ppl. Toyota should make the Corolla in a bunch of bodystyles, like back then.

I'll bet this one is scary, whoa dude. Wicked motor.

Buy a big block and throw away the wrapper...

This!

Would be an interesting starting point to build something using a Prius drivetrain, or a Lexus IS-F drivetrain. Keep it all Toyota, sell the big block to a Chevy fan. A Chevy engine in anything not GM is just so wrong, IMO (excluding speciality cars that came w/ Chevy engines like the Iso Grifo in the 60s).
