Help wanted: Creating Banners for C&G

Featured Replies

where's Dodgefan lately? This is his bag, no?

I might take a crack at it if I can dedicate the right amount of time to doing it. God knows I have the necessary programs handy that are just going to waste right now.

I have a few questions, though, that could benefit anyone else interested:

 • Just to check, these banners would advertise C&G correct?
 • How many banners are needed?
 • How large should they be?
 • Any guidelines as far as graphics, slogans, etc.?
 • Where on the web would these banners appear?

where's Dodgefan lately? This is his bag, no?

That's another question that was on my mind ... Maybe he's over at the LH Forums ...

Yes

probably about 6 to 9 total. Banners typically come in "styles sets" where you have multiple sizes of the same basic banner design. The sizes are

728x90, 120x600, 300x250, 468x60 - in any combination

We will not be using "GM's biggest fans and harshest critics". I have some of the base graphics that can be modified as needed.

All over/Yet to be determined.

You can use any non-media image from my or BV's galleries, but you cannot use photography found randomly in a google image search. If it looks like a picture that BV or I took, then it is fair game. Some of the ads can be brand or model specific. For example "Come discuss the hot new Cadillac XTS here" with a picture of the XTS concept or something.

No snark.

I'll see what I'm up to Monday and if I'm in the clear I might try to start working on one or two designs.

UPDATE: I'm off to a funeral (my great aunt passed away and my mother would like for me to take her) for the next two days, but PM some graphics to work with if you still want me to help.

If you still want me to try my hand at it, Olds, just PM me the base graphics and I'll happily work up a few ads. There shouldn't be much going on for the rest of the week over on my end.

Well, that's the banner header for this site. I'm going to need banners for advertising on other sites.... I'm sitting in Chicago Union Station right now, I'll try and get you some graphics (or you could coordinate with DF) tomorrow morning.

That sounds fine to me. I think I'll work on a handful of banners and bounce the ideas off of you and DF if that's okay.

EDIT: It's 5PM and there's no PM? I guess you guys have it under control?

You didn't. I was just up since 4:30am yesterday and had a very busy day at work. The few posts I made on here last night were barely coherent. (not that you'd notice a difference)
