ROUTE 66 STORY

I've written a couple more sections, #s 22 & 23:

HOLIDAY DECOR

We see them coming down the road towards us ... vehicles decorated for the Holidays.

More (+ pics) here:

So, how 'bout it? Do you decorate your vehicle(s) for the holidays? If so, how?

And, what is the oddest and/or most-creative vehicle decoration you've seen?

"Maybe I'll drive so far they'll all lose track" __ Dolly Parton __ 'Hard Candy Christmas'

I dunno, but that kind of annoyed me the same way dressing up a pet does. I see these cars with chistmas lights, or antlers on the wondows and a big red nose (that probably works WONDERS for aerodynamics, fuel economy, air intake etc.), and I just kind of have to shake my head.

I think the most I do is tape a small American flag to my antenna on the 4th of July.

I sawr some stuffed, plushy reindeer antlers taped to the roof of a VW Bug the other day. I was like REALLY? ;)

OCN, my GF has informed me that that was LAST year's new fad... though I never saw any last year and so far 3 sets this year.

I've seen more than I can count. if they were all in one place, I'd think i drove into a herd of reindeer.

I never decorate for any event, other than political bumper stickers around election time every 4 years..

I love decorating for Christmas, but not my car.

I have a set of the reindeer antlers & red nose AND a set of the bunny ears and pink nose for one of my two vehicles to display. My 6 year old son gets a kick out of them on the car, and I usually only display them for a couple of days (like a day or two before Easter/Christmas and then the next day before coming off). Corny? You betcha! But I get a kick out of my son's enjoyment (I'm sure my 17 month old daughter will like it too).

Previously, I put a small wreath with a red bow on the grille of my '01 GMC Sonoma and in 2009 I put a small wreath with battery-operated LED lights on the '96 Caddy FWB. I found the wreath and lights when decorating after Thanksgiving, so I'm going to put them on the Envoy this week.

Additionally, all of my vehicles display a US flag for Memorial Day and 4th of July.

I used to put a red bow or a wreath on the front of my very first Toronado (it had a "classic" grill) or my Continental, but haven't done it on any car since. You kind of need an upright grill to pull it off well. I probably could have pulled it off with the CTS, but never did try.

Ahem yer CTS had a wreath on the grille every single day you had it, buster.

Nope- never decorated a car for a holiday. I'm not a huge 'holiday fan'...

My F-150 flew a small American flag decal in the rear window, but I haven't gotten around to putting one on the Silverado.
