February 3, 201214 yr Wow- I JUST got off the phone with my buddy, telling me about this faded black GTO down the street from him for sale, via talking I figured out it was a '73, and this is the very same actual car. Too new for me, tho.
February 3, 201214 yr Author Wow- I JUST got off the phone with my buddy, telling me about this faded black GTO down the street from him for sale, via talking I figured out it was a '73, and this is the very same actual car. Too new for me, tho. That's just cool! If it were doable for me, I'd be all over this one - I really like it.
February 3, 201214 yr Author right colors & powertrain, that's fer sure. Plus the NACA hood. Yep. Depending on the particulars, I'd even consider trading my Vette for this. Project for project.
February 3, 201214 yr I'm going over to Monroe Sat to mess with some plow equipment- you want me to put a deposit on it for you?
February 3, 201214 yr Author I'm going over to Monroe Sat to mess with some plow equipment- you want me to put a deposit on it for you? Man I wish! Think he'll take an NOS Vette bumper as a downpayment?
February 3, 201214 yr Guessing this is the vehicle to which you referred, Camino? Looks good..... I just can't stop looking at cars I'd love to buy. *sighs* Cort | 38.m.IL | pigValve + paceMaker + cowValve | 5 MCs + 1 Caprice Classic * post-surgeryPARTY = 5:30p-10:30p, SAT, 02/11/12 | Beef Villa, 1225 W Spring St, S Elgin IL * "After so many dreams have fallen through, it's time that 1 came true" __ Earl Thomas Conley __ 'Nobody Falls Like A Fool'
February 3, 201214 yr Wow, a sweet Goat find, for sure. I'm looking forward to the project thread, Camino!
February 3, 201214 yr That would be a very nice fun car to drive & bring back up to snuff but man the gas it would use. Needs a Richmond gear 6spd 2x OD then you could row the boat smiling all the way home.
February 3, 201214 yr The lowest production year for the GTO. Monroe township isn't too far from me... but I'm not there right now. If you like the black '73's, there was an episode of 'Moonshiners' recently (either episode 3 or 4) where Tim puts a new engine in his black colonnade A-bod. Its a red car repainted black, IIRC (you can see the jams aren't done)... and is a hybrid... '73 doghouse, '77 taillights. But its shiny and sounds good when done... so its something of Poncho colonnade eye-candy.
February 3, 201214 yr and is a hybrid... '73 doghouse, '77 taillights. But its shiny and sounds good when done... so its something of Poncho colonnade eye-candy. Just remembered that the later taillights don't fit on the early colonnades... so it must be a '75-'77 body with a early doghouse.
February 3, 201214 yr Sweet find, this would be an awesome project to put it back to OEM Perfect. If only I had enough money.
February 15, 201214 yr Not knocking a '73 GTO by any means, but I'd much rather have this '77 Lemans: http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/2816383263.html Price is still out of my range, but its not bad for what the pictures show. And it is literally 15-20 minutes away from where I live too.
February 16, 201214 yr Author I'm not so sure... At least the GTO seems to be gone - safe on that front.
February 16, 201214 yr I'm not so sure... At least the GTO seems to be gone - safe on that front. I am sure another GTO will come up when the time is right for you.
