April 16, 200619 yr Looks like Detroit is going to have to face off with a group from up north. Hockey time is MY time! My co-workers always bust my chops about Basketball, etc but there's nothing that compares to the hockey play-offs here in Hockeytown. Simply put, you havent experienced the play offs if you havent been in Hockeytown. vs First Round for the NHL starts Friday. Detroit kicks it off Saturday afternoon!!!!
April 16, 200619 yr "image hosted by Tripod" will be a tough match for the wings! Come on guys We need one positive thing here in detroit!
April 16, 200619 yr Hell yeah.. our last ten.. we're 9-0-1. That's 19 points in 10 games! We rock it Hockeytown style for show!
April 16, 200619 yr Ever notice it's like the same six or so people posting... Yep, Looking foward to the playoffs...and they seem to be finishing strong this year.. Go Hockeytown! I'm trying to think who they are going to play...I haven't been paying attention this week due to my working long hours...
April 16, 200619 yr meanwhile, in Uniondale, NY, Islanders players are polishing their golf clubs getting ready for another long summer.
April 17, 200619 yr Dave we're playin the Oilers it starts Saturday afternoon. Ahh...the Oilers should be a good first round choice...they always seem to have the power to surprise...
April 17, 200619 yr 8th seed.........I do think they will be impressive but not enough. This is the year the Wings & Pistons both win in the same year.
April 17, 200619 yr To paraphrase Jimmy Kimmel, They're going to burn the city of Detroit down if the Pistons or Redwings win...that is assuming there are still people in Detroit who aren't in jail and who are gainfully employed to the point where they can afford combustible liquids. This link should be helpful to anyone going to hockeytown anytime soon.

April 18, 200619 yr Granted I was thinking of 1968 when I made the riot reference, but going from #1 to #2 in murder rate isn't really anything to brag about. "We're not the murder capital of the world anymore!" isn't really a great slogan to bring in tourists. So who has what in his ass? The person who has been to Detroit and has seen the statistics or the guy from Detroit who appears blind to the facts and defends a city that is, statistically speaking, unsafe?
