The Ram will be getting Chrysler's 3.6L Pentastar V6 producing 280 HP. This will replace the current 3.7L V6 producing 210 HP. Also, the Ram will get a new eight-speed transmission. The new eight-speed transmission "reduces fuel consumption by up to 12 percent over our current five-speed transmissions" such as the one in the current Ram, the filing says.
