Cheers or Jeers: 1,000 mile 1987 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Aerocoupe

After a production run of 19 years Chevrolet began winding down one of its most popular and long lasting models, the rear wheel drive Monte Carlo. It was offered in LS and SS models which came in notchback coupe and fastback Aero-coupe versions. This was a limited-production special model, first seen in 1986 with only 200 built to qualify the design for use in stock car racing. And for 1987, production of the Aerocoupe still only accounted for approx 7% of the total Monte Carlo production. In 1988 the Aero-coupe was discontinued and Chevrolet retired the Monte Carlo at the end of the model year. It was among the last of the 6 passenger coupes in the automotive market place, and remains a favorite on today’s drag strips.

This ultra-low mileage example has spent its life in the hands of a collector. With a mere 1,518 miles showing on the odometer, it remains as new and still in the wrapper. This very special Monte Carlo is powered by the top of the line for 1987 5.0-liter HO V-8 with dual exhaust and 4 speed automatic transmission. It is also optioned with factory A/C, power steering and power disc brakes, tilt steering column. The flawless body is covered in its factory applied white paint with red SS stripes and fitted with white letter Goodyear Eagle radial tires mounted on performance alloy rims. The grey velour interior has front bucket seats with floor console and shifter, power windows and full instrumentation including Tachometer and still looks as new! If you missed your chance to buy one in the 80’s, this car is as good as it gets. It comes with extensive documentation such as its original window sticker and bill of sale, owner’s manual with warranty books and promotional material. It is ready to drive and enjoy or store as a museum car for future generations

very very nice. super clean but if im going to spend that kind of money on a car of that era it'll be an 87 WE4 turbo buick.

Hmmm, well I do like these Montes but I always found the aerocoupe to be awkward from some angles and an '87 is not too hard to find. Still, a very nice example though the price is a bit high.

Lukewarm cheers.

Very sharp...I remember these were uncommon when new, always liked the back window treatment on the Aerocoupe.

LOVE IT, This was my dream car before I moved onto suv's. This baby is worth the cash and it is my fav the Aero model.

I hope someone truly loves it when they buy it. I would if I had the cash, but man it is a hot car. :P

I thought you were buying it for me. :P

Well, considering I'm unemployed right now, that wouldn't be very prudent of me to buy it for you....... Just sayin' ;).

I totally understand that one, I could be joining you tomorrow in the unemployment line. Depends on what streamlinging EMC does and their so called offers to us contractors to move into a actual employee roll.

Good luck with your job search,

*nods*

Thanks ... so far, ugh, though. :(

How'd it go for you?

Ugh, day two of they are working on an offer but nothing so far, but hey remember you need to get that work done by wednesday. So I figure either I get an offer or I am out, not sure but tomorrow should be interesting for me.

Sorry to hear you have not found anything yet. I know Seattle is booming if your up for relocating as I am looking at plenty of places to apply if I find myself jobless.

Goodluck on the search
