I attended the Philadelphia Main Street in Motion ride and drive event last July (2011). However, I am not able to locate any information on this event continuing in 2012. Does anyone know if GM is still putting on this show in cities across America?

Main Street in Motion was canceled in September, and GM redirected the marketing dollars to advertising. It seems unlikely it will be reprised anytime soon.

Thanks for the info, bobo. It was definitely a cool event to take part in, but must have cost GM plenty of money to operate. I did participate in a drive event sponsored by GM at the Philadelphia Auto Show in early February that was 1/10ths the size & scope of MSiM, but still allowed you to drive any model of GM vehicles they had available (sadly, it was on the streets of Philly on the weekend, so weekend traffic kind of killed the buzz). Now I'm wondering if GM will be doing some sort of driving event at the upcoming New York (NYIAS) show?

GM does seems to be doing more ride and drive events at auto shows. Until last year, I never saw them do it at auto shows. Usually there were only Toyota or Ford. They did it at the LA Auto Show, and even at one of the small regional auto shows. I was talking to the Chevy ride and drive dude how I missed the Auto Show in Motion and the short-lived Main Street in Motion, and he said that the big events are coming back, but I kind of doubted that he would really know.
