Another case, IMO, of another division drawing heavily from Cadillac design.

In this case, you have to focus to tell this from a Seville, head-on. Not good for Cadillac.

Chevy started doing this with their big cars in the early '70s, too.

Badge engineering was pretty obvious with this car.

Clean find.

The '73-75 looked better, IMO...in '76 they blanded out the Regal and Century coupes by smoothing out the sides and hood.

I wouldn't call it 'badge engineering'...more like platform sharing...same as with other A-bodies from '64 on... these had Buick engines, specific interiors, probably no exterior panels shared except for the greenhouse..

But when I look at the front, I really see cadillac before I see the emblem of what product line it is supposed to be. This is sad as it really should be individual to keep it seperate from another brand.

Interesting...I see no Cadillac resembalance, but I do see a similarity to other '77-79 Buick models...

Cadillac never had an A-body or colonade. I'm not seeing Caddy-specific styling.

Having grown up with a father who had a repair garage, a game he always played especially at night was to identify cars by the headlights. Probably with two grandfathers that both only Drove Cadillac till their deathbeds, this is why I see cadillac on this car. I know the headlights are a generic item GM used on many cars, but that is what I see when I look at the front end before I notice the grill or emblem. I see cadillac eyes looking back at me.
