Up for auction this beautiful little '86 Sunbird Convt. It's a perfect car for today's gas prices and topless to boot! It's no speed demon, but it rides & drives like a 39K mile car should and everything but the drivers mirror works perfectly (it works too, but the contacts need worked). It's completely loaded, the A/C blows cold and the car has not been wet since '08. It's a little dusty, but there are no surprises with this car and all it needs is a new home and very little TLC to be like new. Every known issue with this Sunbird has been listed above, and the pics are very descriptive. If you're in the market for a well kept, adult owned, nice, little, fuel efficient, dependable convertible, that you can drive anywhere, at a very reasonable price, then you will want to take a very serious look at this one. When was the last time you saw one of these, let alone in this condition? 100% Pos. Feedback. Bid with confidence!
May 25, 201213 yr If it were $200 I would strongly consider the possibility of definitely thinking about the idea of maybe buying it.
May 25, 201213 yr The color plus automatic trans just screams Excitement!!! Got to say, though, one neat aspect of the J cars was how diverse they were...5 brands, a variety of engines, and the Cavalier had 5 bodystyles at one time.. Edited May 25, 201213 yr by Cubical-aka-Moltar
May 25, 201213 yr 39K miles and the interior looks like that? Pass. Always did like the mid-late 80s Pontiac taillights though. Agreed about the variety of J Cars available. Fast forward to today, and a very handsome Cruze wagon and hatch are being kept out of our reach.
May 25, 201213 yr My father had an '85 Sunbird when I was a kid, and that's one of the cars I learned how to drive in when I was around 5 or 6 years old. Having said that these cars have always had a special place in my heart and I considered finding a nice clean one when I grew up as sort of a memento. That idea never came to fruition because I can't fit in J-car's anymore, this particular one seems a little rough for 39K miles, aat least the interior does. Overall theses have always been my favorite J-bodies, cheers.
May 26, 201213 yr Its obvious this car spent time in the heat/sun for the seats to go bad like this. While I realize no one here would be serious about buying it, keep in mind that fixing seat covers is easier than doing bodywork.

Well, I also acknowledge that its not very collectible, but is still historically valuable. For every collectible G-bod made in '86, 10 J-bodies were built, yet few exist in decent condition. If they are not saved, history will repeat itself.
