Found on Craigslist

For sale a pair of 61 Pontiac Ventura's 1 was an original 425A car with drag Racing history from new in Florida. The other is a complete running 389 auto. The 425 A car has PHS , 8 Lugs, HP manifolds, 3:64 posi, still on it but it is good for parts to build the other car. Worth well more than the asking price in parts alone.

Also selling off a 1963 Grand Prix 1 owner from California complete with A/C and 8 lugs for $2400.00

Head is the same for all non-SD '61-62 Pontiacs; 538177, but yep, that's a 425A manifold.

425A cars were either 333 HP (4bbl) or 348 HP (3x2bbl) 389s, very strong performers, and not common.

Silver Ventura looks to be decent, curious (via the photos) that the seller claims the red car is the builder.

Complete powertrain in the 425A car plus the 2nd car is well worth the $4K, IMO.

I'm forever scared of a convertible parked with no top. They get enough water damage even WITH a top. Although the silver car lacks a back glass...

Red one looks to be a coupe also, w/ a back window rolled down (roof obscured by the tree).

Well, nothing in the ad said it was a convertible, and that looks like a coupe A-pillar to me (convertibles had all chrome trim on the A-pillar).

There's so much light on the interior though. I cannot really tell. Will need to google to check A-pillar trim.

Yup, I see that, I was over at one of the "old car brochure" sites, noted the full stainless windshield post trim on ragtops, and no mention of a Ventura convertible, only Bonneville.

I guess with a breezy bubbletop, there's gonna be a lof ot light coming in. Just looks weird in the photo to me.

'Nother detail - it appears that the backlight for the silver car is sitting on its trunklid.

I swear that roof is cut away from the red car. Look how the branches go behind the windshield there. The front window is up, you can see the sash and the tint line where it meets the branches at the top, but the branches overhang the top of the glass and are visible inside it. Am I dreaming? Is this a homemade convertible? Need moar photos.

Not sure..I see the reflection of the branches and leaves on the top center of the windshield...and there is either or a branch or a C-pillar visible (slanting straight line where hte C-pillar should be). I think the roof is either rusted or painted black..don't see any red where the top of the roof would be.

It's really hard to tell if it has a roof or not, but I don't think it is a convertible.

There is a rusty rear package shelf visible that I don't think a vert would have.

Leaves inside the side glass could just be trapped from opening/closing the door.

I believe I see the C-pillar kick-up of a hardtop, the converts didn't have that. The rest of the clues posted here aren't definite enough for me.

If it WERE a convert, I could see what appears to be the worse project being implied as the builder, but anyone who knows what a 425A car is should know that car has more potential.

Really not sure which it is, and again amazed in 2012 that pics this poor can still be taken.

Which is probably why the cars are still listed rather than sold.

Some folks just don't know how to get the job done.
