Interesting vehicle from a difficult time at GM. Attractive FWD proportions weren't their forte in those early days of wrong-wheel drive.

The FWD A-bodies weren't bad for what they were, the follow-up to the disastrous FWD X-bodies, at a difficult time in the nation in the aftermath of the fuel crisis. Too bad the A-bodies just kind of lingered and lingered and lingered (except for the Celebrity), kind of like the W-bodies but without the major updates.

And today I might see (and hear, with the 60-degree V6 burble) at least half a dozen Cieras or Centurys still navigating the mean streets.

Interesting..haven't seen an early A-body in forever, let alone a 2dr one. So GM had a 2.5 4cyl 30 years ago, just like today..

One thing interesting about the proportions and styling...look how long the hood and decklid are compared to FWD models of today...and all the glass, probably has excellent outward visibility..

Yup, and now sitting in a car is like being hunkered down in a bunker. To meet crash standards. Which in turn leads to the need for electronic nannies to ding from the dashboard when we get too close to something. Ridiculous.
