have Word 2000 and I am creating a document that has a "fill in the blanks" type feeling to it. My question is, is there a way to have lines that you can put text onto without the line moving because all you did was something like this "_______________".

To put it another way if this is hard to understand and you really have the kindness in your heart to help :). I just need something that can be a line with words on it, but like a template. not like this "_______hello______"

click the underline button?

use text boxes. position them over the lines. text boxes only are positionable in increments, so if it doesn't line up properly, hold down the ALT key and reposition with the mouse. Hope this helps.

that might be another solution croc, but the box remains and it looks kinda funky.... i swear there is a way to do it cause i have seen word documents before that do it.

Thanks for the help....i didn't know those even existed.

I think you want to use the Forms toolbar and insert a text form field...

Main Menu bar:

View> Toolbars> activate Forms toolbar> Select 'Text Form Field'> select area you want field to be
