September 12, 201213 yr The gas gauge in the wagon hasn't ever worked, and I really want to fix it before I drive the car again. The number one suspect , of course, is the fuel tank sending unit. They are available for every bodystyle of '73-'77 Chevelle/El Camino.... except the wagon. Let's hope it's a bad wire...
September 12, 201213 yr Is the tank shaped differently in the wagon, maybe a different depth? Not sher why the wagon is segregated.
September 12, 201213 yr Author In the wagon, the tank is mounted inside the driver's rear quarter panel - totally different than El Camino, coupe and sedan.
September 12, 201213 yr ^ Yea, I remember our family's '77- same design. You might be able to Frankenstein one together if it is the sender- bones of the old & some of the new- they're pretty simple.

September 12, 201213 yr Author I'll find out once I get it apart - I want to get the tank sealed and painted while I'm at it since it isn't available either.
