I put this trailer hitch and tire trailer setup together this fall to give myself a little piece of mind when I take my car on trips to the track. I will feel much more comfortable making the trips to Road America and Heartland Park (I currently live near Chicago) next year knowing I have a full set of wheels and tires with me. Tire trailer did great on the highway, couldn't even feel it back there.

See you at the track.

Very Cool, Would love to see a pic of your rear end so I can see how you did the trailer hook up since the car has center exhaust.

For the record, while I am sure some would say you are a bad Corvette owner, not everyone can afford a 1 ton Dually GMC truck and trailer to take cars to the track. I think it is very cool that your daily driver is also your play toy.

That's pretty cool..don't think I've ever seen a Corvette w/ a trailer..though I have seen one years ago w/ a hitch...saw a C5 in Colorado w/ a hitch mounted bike rack (a lighter version of the hefty Yakima swing out bike rack I used on my Jeep).

nah, i have seen an 81-82 corvette towing a pontoon though... thats a bad vette owner...

As long as no chrome chminey-like exhausts (of whatever the Hell some other thread was about), you're a good Corvette owner :)

Dude, it is a great idea. Many friends with who I autocross/race with have done on their vehicels - C3 through C6. A friend with a 2009 Z06 has it too. The car is supposed to be not designed for towing, but with 4 tires and trailer weight you are looking at ~400 lbs. Just be judicious on the interstate.

Either you get a dedicated truck with a trailer or you hitch to your car. Second is cheaper. Good Luck.

Have fun, glad someone else here is having fun with motorsports....

Would be neat to have wheels for the trailer that match the style of the car..:)
